I use the backup at both my jobs every day. At one job I'm the butcher at a very busy restaurant and it it just handy to have around. At my other job I'm a bartender in a very very busy bar. The beam is more than enough for anything indoors, construction is great, and the variable output it perfect for reading things. The reversible clip is sturdy and can be used on the brim of a hat. It's also a tank; I have dropped it a million times, stepped on it, dropped it in puddles and even lost it on the concrete floor of a bar with 500 people it. I found it later all beat up but still working perfectly. It's the perfect upgrade from the E1e and the perfect personal light.
