Really appreciate your blog and the ‘by the numbers’ approach you take to your reviews. A lot of YouTuber’s pile on bias and emotion into their diatribes to ill effect for people that want facts. I’m a Navy gunner of 10 years and know a good deal about black rifles, among many. But I was wanting a more informed review of MEGA’s billet receiver for a 7.62×39 build in 20″. I was thinking about Sun Devil Mfg, but they use 6061 aluminum (though a lot more of it – still a nice receiver), but seeing as how I intend this to be a medium range standoff weapon where maneuverability will be a factor (I’ve had plenty of time in the boots to know how to drive a full length rifle inside a house) the extra weight for its’ own sake isn’t excusable. Also ran across your Vltor A5 stock review, and am glad I did. Was thinking about getting their E-Mod, but your review draws into clearer light the synergy it has with the gas system (in addition to lockup times, buffer weights, bolt speed, and the rest of it). Keep up the good work!
I am thinking of buying the LaRue OBR 7.62 in either 18″ or 20″, have you had the opportunities to shot this rifle. Please help b/c I saw your video of the LWRC REPR and it made up my mind not to buy it. that is why i an thinking of the LaRue
